I believe that "true teachers" are called to teach, and I have been a teacher since 1979.  In addition to teaching English, I have a personal responsibility to help my students reach their full potential as students, instill a love for learning, encourage them to further their education, create a desire to become a productive citizen, set personal goals, strive for excellence, and give back to the community.  Therefore, my educational philosophy is that I will expect the best from each student, regardless of what his/her best is, and I will not accept anything less.  We, as teachers, must teach our students to become problem solvers because they are our future.
I have had the privilege of teaching for the past thirty-one years, and I continue to be passionate about what I consider to be a noble profession.  Henry Adams said, "A teacher affects eternity," but the truth is my students are my teachers, and the lessons that I have learned from them will affect me for eternity.
