Carthage High School senior linebacker Qui Beck has been named the Week 5 Class 4A Built Ford Tough Player of the Week, earning statewide recognition for his dominant play and leadership on and off the field.

Beck, a Texas A&M verbal pledge and last season’s Defensive MVP in the Class 4A Division II state championship game, delivered a standout performance in the Bulldogs’ 42-0 victory over Jasper. In just over one quarter of action, he recorded 11 tackles, one sack, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown to help lead the defending state champions.

Despite often spending the second half of games on the sideline due to Carthage’s commanding leads, Beck has already built an impressive season stat line. Through five games, he has totaled 30 tackles, three tackles for loss, five quarterback pressures, three pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and a sack, further solidifying his reputation as one of the top defensive players in Texas high school football.

ā€œHe’s got an unbelievable motor, a great attitude, great grades and he’s a leader on and off the field. He did all of that this week despite playing one series in the second half,ā€ said Carthage Head Coach Scott Surratt.

Beck’s accomplishments will be celebrated statewide when he is featured on the Built Ford Tough Player of the Week Show, airing tonight at 10:30 p.m. The show is free to watch and will stream live on multiple platforms, including TexanLive.com, Facebook (Dave Campbell’s Texas Football), Twitter/X (@dctf), Instagram (@davecampbells), and YouTube (@DaveCampbells).

Carthage High School encourages the community and fans to tune in and help honor Beck’s achievements as he continues to represent Dawg Nation with pride and excellence.
