Carthage High School is excited to present its annual Feast of Carols on Monday, December 8, 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Carthage ISD Performing Arts Center (PAC). This year’s theme, inspired by The Grinch, brings a vibrant Whoville twist to one of CHS’s most cherished fine arts traditions.
With the guiding taglines “A Carols Feast Even the Grinch Wouldn’t Steal!” and “Grow Your Heart Three Sizes This Night!”, the event highlights an incredible collaboration between the Culinary Department, Art Department, Theater Department, Band, and Choir. Students across each program have spent weeks preparing a festive experience filled with creativity, color, performance, and holiday spirit.
A Whoville-Inspired Experience
The Culinary Department will welcome guests with a bright, colorful spread of holiday finger foods, replacing last year’s dark theme with cheerful décor and sparkling string lights. Each table will feature handcrafted Whoville ceramic houses created by CHS art students, illuminated with twinkle lights to complete the immersive holiday atmosphere.
The Art Department has also prepared a variety of visual features, including student-made self-portrait ornaments and a large-scale, student-drawn Grinch mural that will serve as a signature backdrop for the event. Decorations for the Feast of Carols will be installed throughout the PAC during the week leading up to the celebration.
Fine Arts Collaboration at Its Best
The performance portion of the evening will be led by the Theater Department, with Mrs. Medbury coordinating a holiday script that incorporates participation from both the Band and Choir. A combined rehearsal for all performing groups is scheduled for December 3 during 1st period, ensuring a cohesive and entertaining showcase.
The Band will review the script collaboratively and select musical pieces that enhance the Whoville theme, adding a rich musical layer to the night’s program alongside the choir.
A Celebration of Student Talent
Feast of Carols is more than a holiday event—it is a celebration of student creativity, dedication, and cross-department collaboration. With hands-on work from culinary arts, fine arts, theatre, and music students, the showcase reflects the strength of CHS’s integrated learning experience and the vibrant spirit of the Bulldog community.
Carthage ISD invites families, community members, and supporters to join in this festive evening and experience a showcase that is sure to fill hearts with holiday cheer—perhaps even three sizes bigger.
