Carthage Independent School District proudly announces that Offensive Coordinator Clint Endsley and Defensive Coordinator Darren Preston have been selected to the inaugural Texas 50, recognizing the top assistant high school football coaches across the state of Texas.

The Texas 50 is a prestigious statewide initiative designed to honor assistant coaches who play a vital role in the success of their programs, schools, and communities. Coaches were selected by a distinguished committee of Texas football leaders, including Todd Dodge, D.W. Rutledge, Scott Surratt, and Dr. Charles Breithaupt.

This recognition highlights excellence in player development, program leadership, and community impact, areas in which both Endsley and Preston have made a profound and lasting difference at Carthage High School.

As Offensive Coordinator, Endsley has helped lead one of the most efficient and explosive offenses in Texas high school football. His commitment to preparation, innovation, and developing student-athletes has been a driving force behind the Bulldogs’ continued success on the state stage.

On the defensive side, Preston has built a physical, disciplined, and resilient unit that consistently rises to the occasion. His leadership and attention to detail have shaped a defense that embodies toughness and championship-level execution.

Together, Endsley and Preston are essential to the sustained excellence of Carthage football, helping maintain the tradition and standard that define Bulldog Nation.

In addition to being honored, members of the Texas 50 will participate in a Virtual Master Class Series this April, followed by a capstone event in June in Waco. The initiative also provides ongoing opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and connection among the top assistant coaches in the state.

The Texas 50 aims to elevate the role of assistant coaches and recognize the individuals whose work often takes place behind the scenes but is critical to building successful programs.

Carthage ISD proudly congratulates Coach Endsley and Coach Preston on this well-deserved honor and thanks them for their continued impact on Carthage High School and the greater community.
