Mark Davis receiving Ag Teachers Association of Texas award

Mark Davis received a 30-year service award from the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas at their annual conference in Corpus Christi this summer. Davis is the Carthage ISD FFA advisor, and an agricultural science teacher at Carthage High School.

He is a 1986 graduate of Carthage High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1991. He also earned a Master of Education from SFA in 2007.

Davis spent 10 years teaching Ag Science in Joaquin ISD before coming to Carthage ISD in 2002, and has remained in the district for the last 20 years. He is currently serving his third term as a member of the board of directors for the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas, has served as a member of the Major Livestock Show Advisory committee for the past 17 years, and serves on the ATAT Building Committee. In addition, locally, Davis serves on the Area VI Wildlife Event Committee, the Panola County Junior Livestock Show Board of Directors, and has previously served 15 years as the Longview District FFA Teacher President and as a member of the Northeast Texas Community College Events Committee.
